»How long is too long for your dreams?« von der Hamburger Künstlerin 2012 für die Ausstellung "Die Eroberung der Wand" auf zwei der Säulen des Neubaus tätowiert. Unter Schichten von Spezialpapieren und Farbe wurde sie dann für 10 Jahre in einen Dornröschenschlaf geschickt, aus dem sie heute mit viel Bedacht wieder erweckt wurde. Ein geheimes Kunstwerk inmitten von 10 Jahren Museumstrubel ... eine interessante Perspektive, die mit Sicherheit viele Geschichten in sich birgt.

»How long is too long for your dreams?« was tattooed on two of the columns of the new building by the Hamburg artist in 2012 for the exhibition "The Conquest of the Wall". Under layers of special papers and paint, it was then put into a Sleeping Beauty slumber for 10 years, from which it has been carefully reawakened today. A secret work of art in the midst of 10 years of museum activity ... an interesting perspective that probably holds many stories.

Das Bildgeflecht auf den Säulen besteht aus Auszügen des Archivs der Künstlerin und wurde mittels Tätowiermaschine auf die Betonsäulen gezeichnet. Es wurden nicht nur eigene Motive verwendet, sondern auch solche mit dem Schwerpunkt Seefahrerromantik/Christliche Symbolik (Glaube, Liebe, Hoffnung) aus dem umfangreichen Privatarchiv des Tätowierers Herbert Hoffmann (1919-2010).

The composition of elements on the columns consists of ex­tracts from the artist’s archive and was drawn on the concrete columns with a tattoo machine. Not only own motifs were used, but also those with a focus on seafaring romance/Christian symbolism (faith, love, hope) from the extensive private ­archive of the tattoo artist Herbert Hoffmann (1919-2010).
